Where you can do so much more ...

Manor Farm isn't just about providing you with accommodation and a base. The site provide many amenities and events throughout the year that provide entertainment and fun for everyone. We have found in the past that people knowing in advance of events and activities have built and planned their stay around them leading to a much more enjoyable holiday or break.

Grizzly Grizfest - 2011 - all Weekend

There will be a lot more on at this year's Grizzly ... it'll be a Bigger G than ever before! Some other local organisations are getting involved to help stage junior races on the Saturday and a Grizfest over the whole weekend, including entertainment for children and families and hopefully a Saturday evening concert. We also expect more eateries in town to be open later on Saturday evening and on Sunday. So stay locally ... shop locally ... eat locally ... get muddy and sweaty locally!

for those of you thinking of a brief sojourn in the hills to whet your appetite for a few beers here is a quote from their webpage.

"Twentyish muddy, hilly, boggy, beachy miles of the multiest-terrain running experience you will find this side of the end of time. It's by no means the toughest race around (honestly!),"

Its fair to say that only the young and the tough will be up for the challenge but, with often as many as 2,000 participants there are obviouslyt a fair few around. Manor Farm are offering pitches for £5 a night for runners so - book yours now.

AXE VALLEY RUNFEST >>>>>>>>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< FUN on the RUN

From Friday 14TH to Sunday16TH May 2010

Under Association of Running Clubs rules; permit applied for.

Axe Valley Runners invite entries for a weekend of non-competitive social running with up to eight runs and hopefully a few walks for those who may feel a need to take it easier at times.

All runs will be multi-terrain, moderately hilly and largely cover ground not used by the Grizzly or Midsummer Dream. Long runs will include water stations.

This is intended to be a social weekend so there will be a barbecue on Saturday evening

plus real ale, cider and wine, probably in exchange for a charitable donation (TBC). Breakfast rolls should also be available each morning to set you up for the day's exterions. We hope to arrange a guided tour of local hostelries on Friday evening.

The entry fee will be a nominal £5 for the events (including use of showers) plus another £10 for up to two nights' camping, all of which we think is excellent value. The campsite has a wigwam and a yurt available for hire if anyone who doesn't have a tent would like to camp or fancies sleeping in something different.

AXE VALLEY RUNFEST "FUN on the RUN"

The GRIZZLY IT AIN'T, but finally it's here the long awaited 'FUN RUN' for a weekend of non-competitive social running.

For those of you who would like a gentle taster of the real thing you can now sample up to 8 runs with supervised marshalls, plenty of stop off's, you can even walk it, and all this is perfectly hitched up to a weekend of BBQ, beer, cider and wine available and good fun with social and 'possibly' fit company. It is 'limited entry' so hurry and get yours in.

As Garry Perratt of Axe Valley runners says, "this is intended to be a social weekend" based at Manor Farm Caravan Site and there is intended to be a tour of hostelries on the Friday night (so, besides running and walking you can also 'crawl') so click on the READ MORE to find out the full detals and print off your Entry form.

Playground & Kids Zone

Children of all ages are very welcome here. We have a large playground in the middle of the site which has equipment for all ages and also a small football pitch where we have the occasional tournament...

The playground can be viewed from around the site and there are picnic tables available for you to enjoy your lunch while the kids enjoy the sand pit!

GRIZZLY RUNNERS CAMPING OUT

2,000 runners gather together every year for The Grizzly, a tough twenty mile multi-terrain race which is never the same 2 years running and is only for the fit or crazy. The Axe Valley Runners have been organising the Grizzly every year since 1998 with the substantial proceeds donated yearly to charities.

There is always a shortage of accommodation in the few days preceding the run, especially this year with the unfortunate closure of the Lyme Bay Holiday Village and Manor Farm is providing a specially discounted rate for caravanning pitches at £8 for a pitch with electric, and only £5 for a tent pitch. The date for the race this year is Sunday 8th March, and we are opening a few days earlier than our normal opening date of 15th March to accommodate anyone who is comming down to run the race and wants to pitch up for a few days.
